A New Heart For Laith

I was reading the news tonight on katu.com and found this story about a baby who needs a million dollar heart transplant, but the family's insurance and the hospital is unwilling to give the baby what he needs because of how expensive the procedure is. This is a sad situation but with the help from the community I believe he can get what he needs.

Pass this on.

Thanks! Cassie

Hello??

Life has been moving SO fast lately. I am just beginning to be able to keep up with school and my life as a mommy and wife. It's been busy, but I think that it will work. However, I've considered quitting school 6-8 times in the last month. It's been a hard adjustment to go back. It's quite the change from being home with the kids to having kids and a homework load! And I've been far away from any professional atmosphere for so long now, that I've been feeling a very intimidated. It's hard being away from the kids, too, but they seem to LOVE daddy-time. Nate has done so well with them--giving them baths, making dinner and putting them to bed. Now, Asher b-lines it to him and gets sad if he doesn't think he's getting enough attention from Nate. Brooklynn talks about Daddy often throughout the day, too. It's nice to see that they are enjoying their one-on-one time with Dad.

We're in a new house now, too. We had to move the beginning of January, after our basement flooded. Nathan has been working to get it functioning properly so we can put it up for rent by March. We love our new place, and the kids are really enjoying the space! What a relief. After the basement flooded, we were living in about 600 sq. ft.!

So life has been full of changes for us lately. Sometimes I am not quite sure how I feel about the transitions, I feel confident that God's hand is in all that our family does. It is comforting to know this, since sometimes I feel so directionless. How wonderful it is to know that I am not!!

“You must write every single day of your life... You must lurk in libraries and climb the stacks like ladders to sniff books like perfumes and wear books like hats upon your crazy heads... may you be in love every day for the next 20,000 days. And out of that love, remake a world.” ― Ray Bradbury
