the evolution of fresh blueberry pie.

Really, much needn't be told when there are pictures like these...but I'll give you a few details anyway.

This was my family's first trip berry picking!  Since Amber was in town last week, she came with us to join my sister-in-law and my niece and nephews at Valley View Blueberry Farm.  It was way too much fun, and I think I'd like to try and do again soon.  It was perfect for the kids, and apparently the owners don't mind that little fingers eat at least a handful or two in the meantime.

Do you find yourself feeling overcome with addiction while you pick berries, too?

There were various types of blueberries.
Taste-testing was a pleasure while hunting for the perfect picks.

Now for the assembly of blueberry pie:

The fruits of our labor in golden delicious shape.
Just wish I was feeling this way about my body after all these treats.
Oh, yeah.  I forgot to mention we made homemade vanilla ice cream to go with it.

In my family, it's homemade
or bust.

Doing any berry picking?  If so, how do you plan to use them?

You make "homemade" look so fun & easy.

Yum, yum! I miss picking blueberries in our backyard in Vancouver. And my grandkids all look as delicious as the pie!

Seriously, that was one of the highlights ~ the blueberries were the best ever and it was so beautiful out there! Love those recipes we tried. I gotta get the pie and cobbler recipes from Jeannie. Yum Yum!

OH MY GOSH...that pie looks divine! I want to make it right now. And your crust looks amazing. Is that a recipe you'd like to share? If so, I'd love an email. :) I'm sure you and Amber had a great time. I haven't talked to her yet but I think we're going to lunch tomorrow so I'm sure I'll get to hear a little of what you guys did. It's a great picture of the both of you!

“You must write every single day of your life... You must lurk in libraries and climb the stacks like ladders to sniff books like perfumes and wear books like hats upon your crazy heads... may you be in love every day for the next 20,000 days. And out of that love, remake a world.” ― Ray Bradbury
