Candied Yams with Cranberries

Last spring, while visiting my oldest sis in Montana,
she treated us, visiting family members, to an early Easter feast,
for old-time-family-gatherings sake.

When I tasted these candied yams, I almost fell over.
Some things are just that delicious.

They were so good, that this year, they've made their way onto the Thanksgiving menu.

Take note...

Candied Yams with Cranberries
by Tammy in Montana

1/2 cup flour

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup instant oatmeal

1 tsp cinnamon

1/3 cup butter

2-17oz can yams, drained

2 cups cranberries (you can use 2 cups canned cranberries instead....I use fresh.)

1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows

Combine flour, sugar, oats and cinnamon. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Lightly toss 1 cup crumb mixture with yams and cranberries. Arrange in a 1 1/2 quart baking dish sprayed with Pam. Sprinkle top with remaining crumb mixture. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes. Sprinkle with marshmallows and return to oven until marshmallows are lightly browned. They sometimes take a while to brown, but keep your eye on them or they can burn.

~Enjoy

Will you be in the kitchen come Thursday, too?

Write-up your favorite Thanksgiving dish
in a post and link it below.
I'll keep my eyes peeled!

mmmmmmmmmm sounds fabulous! I won't be in the kitchen much this year due to my knee injury. I have been asked to make my pumpkin spice chocolate chip cookies though. maybe I'll be able to post that recipe tomorrow for your linky. :) so sorry I'm late to Congratulate you on the big 5! So happy and glad you both had a wonderful time. My father and brother loooove to hunt and I remember one Thanksgiving we spent sleeping in the freezing cold in tents to hunt for turkey. hahahaha I think it was too cold for the turkey b/c we never saw a thing. :)

If I don't chat with you before turkey day, I hope you have a lovely one!

xoxo

This year I get off easy. I only have to make a fruit marshmellow salad to take with. Chirstmas will not be as easy.

“You must write every single day of your life... You must lurk in libraries and climb the stacks like ladders to sniff books like perfumes and wear books like hats upon your crazy heads... may you be in love every day for the next 20,000 days. And out of that love, remake a world.” ― Ray Bradbury
