it ain't all cupcakes and daisies around here.

I've caught a cold...in the middle of summer.
I have family arriving Friday and my house is a disaster.
My dishwasher just broke.
Saturday, there will be 50+ people celebrating on my lawn and there are weeds all over the place.
I still need to plan the cake.
I still need to plan meals for our out-of-town guests.
I still need to tear out the carpets, refinish the decks, remodel my kitchen, restain the pine ceilings and paint all the trim in the house white, and hire a decorator before my guests arrive.
Just kidding.

On another note, this morning I woke to yells that Jet had pooped and peed in the kids' room.  Husband gagged when he assessed the damage.  There's nothing like waking up to poop.   Thankfully, I'm stuffed up and I've handled poop for the last 5+ years of my life in all of its many forms, because when I arrived to clean up, I found an incredible mess. Forget the pee.  Jet. tracked. poop. all. over. the. floor. and there wasn't one, but two piles of poop in the room.  We now have an outside dog.  Then, while cleaning, Asher explained that his bed was wet.  He didn't seem entirely positive that he wet the bed, but said it was wet.  Wet it was.

wishing there was remedy in my cup...

Did I mention I have guests on Friday?
Or that I'm sick?

Thanks for the listen.

xx

Oh Cassie! I wish you were closer...I have a brigade of four teens who love to babysit, and can be bribed to weed and we would love to descend on your projects! Hope you are feeling better soon,
Blessings!

Cassie, sorry to hear of this hard time that you have on your hands. At some point I think we all have been there so we all understand. Just remember to do the important stuff, weed killer now and the weeds will be gone this weekend. It's easier then pulling them out. Dogs can stay outside in the nice weather, and the stuff that needs to be fixed just call it rustic and call it good. Hope you feel better.

I hope you feel better soon, having visitors is so much fun... and, oh, so much work too! I wished I lived closer and could give you a hand.

Oh good luck! It does all seem to hit at once, doesn't it?

Breathe...ok so you can't really breathe, thankfully with poop around BUT mentally, BREATHEEEE! Get done what is MOST important and remember most people, guests especially, don't notice the things we think they would in our homes. So get done first what you can and forget the rest or you'll make your cold worse.

First and foremost, take care of yourself!

Ahhhhhh! Now that poop stuff...I change LOTS of diaper everyday but I would be saying, "Honey?" Oh yes I would!

You have so much going on!!! The guest will come & go & I know they will all have had such a wonderful time! I know it can be stressful so I hope everything goes just perfect!!! Oh & Did you kick that stupid dishwasher? My ringtome is "Just another Day in Paradise" & My husband always pictures me on that part, "Baby, don't kick it...promise I;ll fix it.." :) Crank that song up & get staining girl :)

LOVE!!!

Yikes! Sometimes I think 'karma' or whatever you call it is kind of like the gas pump - it wants you to prepay. Hopefully things will turn around and be better than expected. :)

You all are so kind! This is the very reason I take venting to the internet--you're so supportive! And I feel much better, now. xx

If I lived near you I'd totally clean while you rested: hope you feel better.

Cass,
I was just at your place and it is such a haven from the stresses of the world (at least to me who does not live there). It is a calm, relaxing place...No one notices the imperfections but you! It'll be a fun party. You are an amazing mom and wife and you keep house just fine! PS I am sooo glad that you did not post a picture of the gifts that your dog Jet left for you. When I read your post and then scrolled down and noticed pics, I started to worry a bit...
I loved the part about Asher saying his bed was wet but he couldn't remember if he had done it or te dog...hilarious. If you didn't laugh in the moment perhaps you can laugh later on over this.

Oh lordy - a pooptastrophe - I've got 4 kids and plenty of animals so we've had a few of those too - At least it all worked out in the end ( well figuratively) Xo

“You must write every single day of your life... You must lurk in libraries and climb the stacks like ladders to sniff books like perfumes and wear books like hats upon your crazy heads... may you be in love every day for the next 20,000 days. And out of that love, remake a world.” ― Ray Bradbury
