A Weekend of Tiny Dates

This morning, after two days of sunshine, the rain is back, hitting the skylights and dripping off the gutters.  While pulling on his jeans, husband said, I don't know where we're going, but if it's still raining come thursday, we're out of here.  I like the sound of adventure in that...
Speaking of adventure, saturday night, we took the kids on a date!  We dressed them nice (Asher insisted on wearing his cowboy boots), and took them to Portland and hit up Henry's, one of our favorite restaurants.  If you haven't ever been to Henry's or don't live in the area, definitely put it on your list of restaurants to enjoy when you visit the city!  We shared Ahi Tuna with chopsticks, Spinach and artichoke dip, fresh strawberry lemonaide, and meals so good that we looked forward to our sunday afternoon leftovers.
Henry's makes a mac n' cheese beyond this world.

The rest of the weekend was spent at church, reading magazines in the sun on the back porch, tending to the property, plotting our next garden, eating homemade tacos, and settling down for the evening with husband, The Apprentice and root beer floats.

The whole weekend was filled with tiny dates...
and lots of love.

How about you?  How was your weekend?

I have to laugh at the cowboy boots & Asher. Of my three boys, Isaiah was the only one who was a cowboy boy. He wore them everywhere. AND with shorts. I am pretty low-key on things like that, so I just let them rock the clothes they want. They're only little once. And boy do we laugh about it now!

HUGS!

“You must write every single day of your life... You must lurk in libraries and climb the stacks like ladders to sniff books like perfumes and wear books like hats upon your crazy heads... may you be in love every day for the next 20,000 days. And out of that love, remake a world.” ― Ray Bradbury
