Treasure Seeking at the Barn House

On Saturday, I told Husband while he worked on a "project" truck in the shop, that I needed to get out more.  As much as I like my time at home, in the quiet of the country, with our many projects--I need to get out.  We need to get out.  Especially while the skies are blue and the temperature is comfortable.  We Washingtonians, have far too many days out of the year that'll keep almost anyone wanting to stay cuddled on the couch with a cup of tea.

So we went.  The kids and I drove down to Camas Days where a parade was happening.  To my happiness, the kids agreed that treasure seeking and garage sales were way more exciting than a parade, so we kept driving.  I may or may not have encouraged this with talk of a special drink along the way.

We headed out to Battleground, Washington, where a little bird told me the Barn House event was taking place.  Boy was it!  I could hardly believe the extent of the event--cars piling up, live music, food and outside vintage dealers galore.  Everything was so gorgeously put together and inspiring.

I came home with a large chicken wire frame,
that Husband asked politely how much I paid for?
I can't wait to fill it up with beautiful remnants and photographs.

We also meandered through one more vintage show on the corner of a country road, that I'd been wanting to visit for some time, along with a handful of garage sales, while drinking lemonade and sharing a snicker doodle cookie.  The country is my favorite place to garage sale, and it was a perfect way to spend the afternoon.
I just kept wishing that my sisters were there with me.  How I miss them.

Where is the photo of your cute find?

I'm super jealous that you were able to go to the Barn Yard Event. I've followed their blog & adore their style. I can only dream of finding a wonderful place like that nearby. You're a lucky girl to get to go! Thanks for sharing your cute photos!

Okay, you two, I've never even heard of the Barn Yard. Wish I could have gone there, too!

These look like great items, especially the old lace trimmings. I love going to these type of places.

Barn houses are the most effective shopping place where you can find the most unusual and vintage products that you don’t get to find in all shopping centers. I bet these extraordinary items made you enjoy your visit in the place. Nice!

“You must write every single day of your life... You must lurk in libraries and climb the stacks like ladders to sniff books like perfumes and wear books like hats upon your crazy heads... may you be in love every day for the next 20,000 days. And out of that love, remake a world.” ― Ray Bradbury
