falling words
Today, I chewed off all my nails while reading drafts of a very personal piece of writing that I am working on.
I am not sure why today it was hard to read, or if it was harder to read than to write.
Regardless,

Regardless,
the words seem to fall out of me.
down.

They want to be there, between the lines, so they are. Whether I can stand them or not.

You can do it, Cassie! You're a strong woman, and the words do need to be said. If what you're writing about is what I think it is, the fact that the same issue is starting to come out in the news much more regularly, sadly, proves that it needs to be addressed by everyone. Persevere, Hon!
It can sometimes be shocking what ends up on paper. Really. Things you didn't think you felt end up there. We tend to bury things way back.
Sorry you are feeling so uncomfortable about it. But I second your mama. You can do it Cassie.
I think writing about things is sometimes like counselling on paper - it's good for the soul. Keep going.
I agree...getting it down on paper IS good for the soul. It's freeing. Although I'm not a writer, I do believe in the power of the written word, whether you're the reader or the writer. Keep going.
Thanks for the encouraging words! my nails are growing again, and I am back to fight the good fight!
