Miss Brooklynn
The other day, Brooklynn wanted some roller skates. I told her that I couldn't fund roller skates right now, but if she wanted to, she could use the money in her piggy bank (she's been accumulating since she was born). She talked to her Dad about the idea and he thought it was a very good one. She even agreed that sharing the money with her brother would be a kind thing to do. So off we went to the bank to trade in her coins for dollars. Asher chose some Cars cars and we may as well strap them to him, as he has been carrying the three of them around with him everywhere. We found Brooklynn's skates at Target and she's been wearing them for the better part of the days since.
Maybe it's because the skates make her four inches taller, or because the shirts I bought her that day weren't from the toddler section, but were from the 'girls' section. Or maybe it is the fact that she wants to watch iCarly instead of Dora, or that she starts kindergarten in less than a month...the combination of all of this is proving to be quite the reminder that my little girl isn't so little anymore.
Can I get some help with this?

OH such a touching post Cass. I can't believe the little girls are this age either. It is going to be so weird to send them to school! Brooklynn is such a beautiful intelligent inspired little girl. You are such a good Momma. She IS growing but she's amazing! And you and her will both live through this change and experience the excitement of the next stage! :) I am telling myself this as I am telling you! You have done such a great job of documenting her life and your feelings thus far!
What a sweetie....just like her mom.....love from me....xxx...
sweet. sweet. sweet. She and Asher are so full of life with beautiful and loving personalities. I miss you all so much. xoxo Darling pictures.
Er-thanks so much! your comment warms my heart. :) it's exciting to know that our kiddos will grow up together and be such good friends!
Tams- we miss you so much! every day I wish we were closer. :(
Although my son just turned 4 yesterday, I have been having the same feelings with trading chores for new toys and such and he is about to enter his last year of preschool. Blessed our we moms to have such wonderful children.
So cute. She is a beautiful little girl Cass. And, she has a very big heart too. Give her a squeeze for me and tell her I miss her and not to grow up too fast on me. And, I can totally relate to you on the growing up thing. Maya is doing many of the same things.
Great pics too, by the way.
